You'll want to play this game on a full-sized iPad, too the text and menus and visuals are just too tiny on an iPad Mini. Primarily, the vault number is just a means to identify a specific vault, so that players can easily identify a given vault between other options. Load screens abound to start the game, even if iOS just notified you that something is going on. There are other minor issues with the game, too. It's these lunchboxes that often contain the outfits and weapons with which you'll want to arm your vault dwellers, so it can be a frustrating experience to play without spending any real-world cash. While you can play the game without spending any real money - a key in any iOS freemium title - you'll get lunchboxes far too infrequently. ![]() Not that Bethesda makes everything too easy. ![]() This free game is meant to be played in bite-sized bits, too, set up so that you can put in some work on your iPad, leave for a few hours or a day, and return and collect resources, see that your vault has had some kids, and spend more caps. It's all tongue-in-cheek chatter, with a wry sense of humor that matches the tone of the franchise. Each room can be zoomed in with a swift double-tap, letting you get a closer look at your dwellers and permitting you to read their dialogue.
